Track 3: Be Grace, Oh My G-d
"For often it is God's will that His elect should be conscious of their misery and so He withdraws His help from them a little - and no more than that is needed to make us recognize our limitations very quickly." (pg 43)
The third room is a dark one, one of us recognizing our limitations as well as experiencing what St. John of Cross called a "dark night of the soul." Any life of true faith or piety will experience such nights where it feels as though G-d's benevolence has been revoked and they experience true poverty of spirit. This is a good yet uncomfortable season. It is good because it causes us to realize our dependency upon the Lord and uncomfortable because it causes us to realize our dependency upon the Lord.
